Key Responsibilities

Working within the UK Marketing function and working closely with the Head of Marketing, this role will be pivotal in developing content which appeals to prospects at any stage of the marketing funnel; right through from awareness to customer advocacy. You will be an excellent writer with experience and understanding of the B2B technology marketplace, along with a thorough understanding of SEO best practice and how to develop content for search using the most appropriate tools.

You will produce online thought leadership pieces such as regular blogs, whitepapers, reports case studies, press announcements, value propositions marketing campaign collateral, such as content for landing pages and other website copy. You will produce engaging content, re-purposing it as necessary, analysing reports to understand the type of content that resonates and performs best with our target audiences.

You will work closely with the Digital Communications Manager to execute the communications strategy by producing the most relevant content in order to drive awareness and ultimately boost inbound leads as well as helping to retain existing clients.

You will be passionate about producing value led content assets of which the customer needs are at the heart of.

Requirements
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Devise and implement a content and organic keyword strategy using tools such as Answer the Public, Google Search Console, SEM Rush and any of your other favourites in order to drive traffic to our site
  • Implement new Tone of Voice guidelines across the website
  • Identify a set of keywords in order to drive SoPro’s organic ranking
  • Advise on best practice content marketing techniques and the latest tools to help tailor content for all marketing channels and platforms
  • Develop content to support all marketing channels including social, events and PR
  • Identify the ‘why’ and interpret client campaign data to tell a story that appeals to business leaders as well as sales and marketing professionals
  • Work closely with wider team to understand marketing plans thoroughly and how content aligns
  • Understanding of content development with in-house B2B and/or SaaS experience including authoring whitepapers, case studies, blogs, value propositions, marketing campaign collateral, such as content for landing pages and email invitations
  • Proven experience and ability to prioritise and juggle multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
  • An orientation toward action and passion for execution
  • Manage results and help increase content performance
  • Link building content outreach
  • Carry out other ad-hoc duties as requested by senior management

Person Specification:

  • Results orientated with high commitment and positive, can-do attitude
  • Commercially minded with an understanding of the B2B sales cycle and the types of challenges faced by business owners, sales, and marketing professionals
  • Strategic thinking with an entrepreneurial spirit; you are passionate, persuasive and inspiring
  • 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role ideally in-house for a B2B technology business

  • Responsive and delivery focused – able to turnaround quality content swiftly
  • Exceptional writing skills – your understanding of the B2B sales cycle means you are able to produce content which appeals to a range of audiences at all stages of the SoPro sales cycle; from awareness to retention.
  • Understanding of SEO – developing content for SERPs
  • Results driven and ROI focussed – whether it was downloads, increasing traffic or generating sign ups you will be able to demonstrate how you have measured the success of previous campaigns
  • Curious – keen to understand the ‘bigger picture’ and gather information/make connections
  • Driven by continuous improvement – looks for new ways of working, takes ownership to generate content ideas and deliver original and imaginative approaches to content marketing campaigns and channels
