The role

Lead the development of our PR and Events strategy for all Sopro Group brands, including Sopro, email prospecting, Outbase the new SaaS product launching in 2022 and Founders Hub, a community of entrepreneurs. We want to build on a fantastic start-up story and get more marketing and business coverage in a full range of titles, including B2B trade, and media channels. Working closely with sales and the rest of the marketing team, this role also manages our external PR agencies. We also have an established awards program that we want to develop and expand internationally. 

Being responsible for our events, also means working closely with the content team to develop and deliver mainly web-based events. This role will also lead on any trade exhibitions.

Key responsibilities
  • Plan, create and deliver PR strategy to raise the profile of our businesses with relevant media that support ambitious lead and growth goals.
  • Develop our successful awards strategy to highlight the breadth and excellence of our technology, founders, employee environment and CSR activities.
  • Work with sales and content closely to run engaging events fully optimised and shared across platforms.
  • Manage the Employee Brand Marketing Executive to align internal and external events while achieving employee brand metrics.
  • Manage any relevant agencies, such as PR ones.
Requirements
  • Proactive relationship builder – whether its leveraging existing relationships with media or developing new ones, you will be able to demonstrate how you measured the success of previous investments in PR, awards and events.
  • Media savvy – understands how to harness the news agenda and, ideally, with broadcast experience.
  • Results driven and ROI focused – looks for new ways of working, taking ownership of all PR, events and awards activity to deliver original and imaginative approaches to build awareness.
  • Commercially minded – ideally with an understanding of the B2B sales cycle, SaaS businesses and the types of challenges faced by business owners, sales and marketing professionals.
  • Exceptional writing skills – you will be able to produce content which appeals to a range of media audiences.
  • Strategic thinking – with an entrepreneurial spirit: you are passionate, persuasive and inspiring with the ability to demonstrate the development of a strategy that delivers increased profile in the B2B media.
  • A people person – with some managerial experience, you’re passionate about personal, team and group development delivered through an open communication style that suits a fast paced and dynamic environment.
  • An understanding of, or experience in, the B2B technology marketplace would be advantageous but is not necessary.
